Borden, the gateway to Prince Edward Island
Situated at the east end of the Confederation Bridge, Border is also the historic site of the ferry port that serviced this Island for prior to the bridge opening.
Borden-Carleton is a Canadian village located on the south shore of Prince Edward Island, fronting on the Northumberland Strait.
Located about 15 minutes from Summerside, 40 minutes from Charlottetown, and 45 minutes from Anne of Green Gables, you can see and do a lot here without spending all your time driving.
The Gateway Village is located within a 5-minute walk from the house and features such services as restaurants, an information centre, with computers and internet service as well as shopping and other activities.
Ceretti's market is about a 3-minute drive from the house and features, an in-house butcher, with homemade sausages and all cuts of meat as well as a good assortment of produce and other grocery items including DVD rentals.
This uniquely different Island is the smallest and quiet possibly the best kept secret of Canada! With breathtaking ocean and countryside views from everywhere, you are never without somewhere new to explore. Traveling West to East takes about 3.5 hours and from north to south approx. 1 hour, this means you are never really more than 30 minutes from the Ocean at any time.
